Yes, we live in an algorithm-obsessed era. Everyone’s trying to “hack” growth — TikTok ads, SEO tricks, ChatGPT-written cold emails (oh the irony). But here’s the thing: those strategies get you in front of people. Networking keeps you in their heads.

As much as we love digital networking, don’t underestimate good old-fashioned face-to-face meetups. Local business associations, meetups, or even grabbing lunch with a potential collaborator can create a bond that emails never will.

There’s a certain magic to shaking someone’s hand (yes, even in a world where half of us fist-bump to avoid germs). It shows effort, and effort goes a long way.

Networking isn’t dead, it just looks different now. It’s part coffee meetings, part Zoom calls, part random LinkedIn DMs, and sometimes even meme exchanges on Instagram. But the heart of it hasn’t changed — people trust people, not logos.
